About Me

Hello all who are reading this, I take it you were interested enough to find yourself here. In the about me, wondering who I am. So I won’t disappoint in letting you in on a few things about me.

My name is Kenny (No not short for Kenneth, Kenny is my real name), mostly known for Ken. I am an islander from a little island in the Caribbean region, little piece of the “Antilles archipelago” Domincan Republic who enjoys the tropics as much as every other natural landscape on Earth. I love the beach, the nature vibe of it all, to hear the waves and the wind and the ruffle of the palm trees behind you. At night, when the sun is set and the stars come out, is when you truly begin to appreciate the world and not just that island. Because you see, with no light pollution like there is in New York city which is where I reside for the time being, without this you can even see our Milky Way galaxy. Something far too fascinating and wondrous than the aggravating lights and honks of the city. I feel very fortunate to have grown under the conditions of that beautiful island. It’s where I come from and I am proud of it.

Things That Interest Me

Science. I can not put into words the appreciation I have towards science and every true professional involved in it. I believe without science, we wouldn’t understand the world so intricately as we’ve come to know it, we wouldn’t be in love with the beauty and truth of nature. So I owe great gratitude to its existence. But on a more general note, I also absolutely love comic books, I read them whenever I have the chance to get into a series, I draw my own comic book ideas and characters, I love comic book art appreciation. People have this belief that comics belong to a certain crowd, no, they’re for all to enjoy. Comic books have been around for almost the entire duration of my life and I don’t think anyone or anything will change that. I feel the same about movies (science, sci-fi, tons of documentaries, action, adventure, etc.), Blade Runner being my all time favorite movie thanks to the combination of Ridley Scott + Science + Future + and best of all, the man who composed the Cosmos soundtrack for Carl Sagan, Vangelis. I love all sorts of music, but I generally listen to a lot of relaxing music that would be considered as a revive of old synthpop 80’s tunes.

Things I Love

I absolutely love the cosmos. “The cosmos is all that is, all that was, all that will be” - Carl Sagan. It is space, what comprises of you, what made you. So how can I not love this? I’ve always loved the stars, but it was because of Carl Sagan and his series Cosmos that I feel in love with the universe and thus, my own self. From this new appreciation of space I was able to emerge from myself into a new, free person, free will, made from chances. The act of stargazing would be a simple, look and observe action to some, but to me, and to many others, it is the universe on a tiny scale, observing the larger universe. A cosmos contemplating itself and admiring its stellar nursery.

Where I’m Going

I love space and astronomy so much that I wish to become a conceptual artist for NASA. I plan on achieving this by acquiring my bachelors in Studio Art, Minor in Astronomy and Physics. And if I fail, I’ll become a teacher and see if I can incite some bright minds into science and more. In the meantime, I normally do a bit of life drawing here and there, tattoo art from my own ideas, comic book art, I love to read, specially science and science fiction related books.
