Using fear to sway a person’s thinking is all the corporate mouthpieces have been doing this entire election cycle. This time they’re protecting several powerful industries:
The pharmaceutical industry — which will lose millions of customers for anti-depressants and mood enhancers.
The tobacco industry — which will lose millions of customers to people who would rather smoke something that doesn’t cause cancer
The alcohol industry — which will lose millions of customers to people who would rather consume a substance that doesn’t destroy their livers and cause violent temperament
The prison industry — which will lose millions of customers as non-violent drug offenders are no longer criminals and communities are no longer plagued by gang violence spurred by the drug industry
This is all about the money. Anyone with common sense knows that legalizing marijuana will solve a lot of problems — not the least of which is budgetary. The best way to fight common sense is with fear. So that’s what we’re getting from the corporate shills.
